Therefore, understanding these wall inspection knowledge is crucial before starting the wallpaper installation!

01 Wall Stability

The stability of the wall greatly affects the wallpaper application. If the wall surface is peeling, crumbly, or powdery, you need to treat the wall. Otherwise, the wallpaper may not adhere properly to the wall, leading to peeling or wrinkling. You can simply use your palm to rub the surface to check for powder; spray water on the wall to see if it is soft; if there is powder or softening, the wall hardness does not meet the standard, and we need to treat the wall first to ensure stability before wallpaper installation.

02 Wall Flatness

Wallpaper application requires a smooth and flat wall surface. If the wall has many ripples, holes, or particles, the stability between the wallpaper and the wall will be low, and the wallpaper surface will not be smooth, significantly reducing aesthetics. You can use a strong flashlight to observe the wall for unevenness; if there are irregularities, wall leveling is necessary.

03 Wall Cleanliness

During renovations in old houses, walls often have a lot of dust, even stains, or graffiti. The cleanliness of the wall can be checked with the naked eye; for simple dust, cleaning is enough. If there is graffiti, it needs to be covered with joint compound, and then treated with a primer.

04 Wall Dryness
